Gratitude is a seed from which you can grow the unseen

Nothing to Be Thankful For? Be Grateful Still, It’s the Perfect Time

I’m currently nursing a burn wound, small, but not-so-small effects.

And in the past few days it has made me learn to appreciate the little things. More like reminded me than made me. I always knew at the back of my mind that being present in the moment and appreciating what looks like routine is important. But I’d often forget and just get through the motions of life. After all, it all seems pretty simple, a guarantee even. We seem to get through our days oblivious of the privilege, almost borderline entitled. But is it a given? And even if it were, taking a moment to breathe it all in and appreciate what you can or have makes life more meaningful and fills you with gratitude.

Agreeably, one rarely stops to think, “hmmm, I’m breathing, this is awesome.” Or, “wow, I can walk or sit in this posture.”

But until one day you can’t do it, that’s when you realize how much of a luxury it was. Nothing is guaranteed.
